The Houston Astros drafted Roy Oswalt out of Holmes Community College (Ridgeland, Mississippi) during the 23rd round of the 1996 Amateur Baseball Draft. As a rookie in 2001, Oswalt posted a 14-3 record and led the majors with a .824 winning percentage. Over the next nine seasons, Oswalt led the Astros to three post season appearances and one World Series appearance (2005). He was also selected to three MLB All-Star Games and was the 2005 NLCS MVP. He was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies during the 2010 season and led the them to back-to-back NL East Division titles. He spent his final two seasons with the Rangers and Rockies before retiring in 2013. His 143 wins with the Astros is the second highest total in team history.
