A Special Thanks to Antoan Richardson. The Runner Who Scored on Jeter's Walk-Off Hit.

Derek Jeter's walk-off hit during his final plate appearance at Yankee Stadium will be something I never forget. The score was tied 5-5 between the Yankees and the Orioles going into the bottom of the ninth. As noisy as the place was, it became incredibly quite just before the first pitch. The 48,613 fans that were in attendance were looking for a fairy tale ending to one of the most incredible careers in baseball history and THEY GOT IT! Jeter hit the first pitch he saw into shallow right field towards Orioles out fielder, Nick Markakis. Markakis threw the ball towards homeplate as Richardson was racing in. Richardson slid in, beat the throw, scored the winning run.

While Derek Jeter is a household name, Antoan Richardson is not. H…
