Little Johnny Silvester Collection Sells for $400,000

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that the personal collection of "Little" Johnny Silvester was going up for sale at Grey Flannel Auctions. Mr. Silvester was the famous "hospitalized little boy" in which Babe Ruth promised to hit a homerun for during the 1926 World Series.

"Little Johnny" recovered from his injuries and became a successful executive. He passed away in 1990 at 84 years of age. The 1926 Yankees team-signed ball and the letters from Ruth were part of an auction that was being by John Sylvester, Jr. The entire collection ended up selling for over $400,00.00.
