Ebbets Field is one of the most famous stadiums in the history of Major League Baseball. Open on April 9, 1913 the stadium took up the entire city block of Bedford Avenue, Sullivan Place, McKeever Place, and Montgomery Street and was home to the Brooklyn Dodgers until 1957. The stadium was demolished in 1960.
Earlier this month (January 10, 2014), a die-hard Dodgers fan purchased the street sign that stood at the corner of McKeever Place an Montgomery Street for decades. The auction was hosted online at Lelands.com. The winning bid was $58,852.08.
