Joe Theismann Washington Redskins Signing Autographs July 2014

On Saturday, July 12, 2014, Collectors Showcase of America (CSA Shows) will host a public autograph signing for Washington Redskins 2x NFL Pro Bowl quarterback, Joe Theismann. The signing is part of the July 2014 Show at Chantilly, which will be held inside the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia.

After three seasons as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish starting quarterback and a second place finish for the 1970 Heisman Trophy, the Miami Dolphins selected Joe Theismann in the fourth round of the 1971 NFL Draft. Instead of playing for the Dolphins, Joe opted for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. He spent three seasons in the CFL, leading Toronto to the 1971 Grey Cup Championship and played in two CFL All-Star Games. He returned to the NFL and joined the Washington Redskins in 1974. Joe saw very little playing during his first few seasons in Washington before winning the starting QB in 1978. From 1979 through 1984, Theismann was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. During that time span, Joe led the Redskins to three NFC East Division Titles, two Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl Championship (SB XVII). He also played in two NFL Pro Bowls and was the 1983 NFL Most Valuable Player. Joe retired after the 1984 season. His 25,206 career passing yards and 77 wins as a quarterback are still team records.
