St. Louis Cardinals Punch Their Ticket to the World Series. Rookie Michael Wacha is NLCS MVP.

For the 19th time in team history, the St. Louis Cardinals are champions of the National League. Led by rookie phenom, Michael Wacha, the Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers four games to two. Wacha, who made his MLB Debut on May 30, 2013 and wasn't even a regular starting pitcher until August, is the 2013 NLCS MVP.

Wacha was called upon to face the reigning MLB ERA Champion for the last three consecutive seasons and the favorite to win the 2013 NL Cy Young Award, Clayton Kershaw. The two faced-off in Game Two of the NLCS as Wacha struckout eight batters in 6.2 innings en route to a 1-0 Cardinals victory. They met again in Game Six. Wacha gave up just two hits and again allowed no runs in 7.0 innings while the Cardinals offense tagged Kershaw for seven earned runs in 4.0 innings en route to a 9-0 victory and a trip to the 2013 World Series. The Cardinals will play the winner of the American League Championship Series between the Red Sox and Tigers.
