Buster Posey has agreed to a nine-year $167 contract extension that will keep him in a San Francisco Giants uniform through the 2021 season.
Posey is arguably the most accomplished player in MLB history that has not even played two full MLB seasons. As of the end of the 2012 season, Buster has played just 308 regular season games. In that short amount of time, he has won two World Series Championships, was the 2010 National League Rookie of the Year, the 2012 NL MVP and the 2012 NL Comeback Player of the Year awards. He made his first All-Star game in 2012.
He is the youngest player to win the Comeback Player of the Year and he is the only player in MLB history to win both the MVP and Comeback Player of the Year Awards in the same season.
