Cecil Cooper Autograph Signings Boston Red Sox Milwaukee Brewers

The Boston Red Sox drafted Cecil Cooper out of Prairie View University during the sixth round of the 1968 Amateur Baseball Draft. He made his major league debut in 1971 and became the Red Sox starting first baseman in 1974. In 1977, Cooper was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers. Once he became a part of the Brew Crew, Cooper's career really took off. Over the next eleven seasons, Cooper posted seven .300 batting seasons, captured two RBI titles, was selected to five MLB All-Star Games, won two Gold Glove Awards and two Silver Slugger Awards. He led the Brewers to the 1982 World Series and retired after the 1987 season.
