Bill Madlock was drafted by the Washington Senators during the Fifth Round of the 1970 Amateur Baseball Draft. He made his MLB Debut in 1973, but was traded to the Chicago Cubs at the end of the season. During his three seasons in Chicago, Madlock played in the 1974 MLB All-Star Game, won the 1974 National League Batting Title and the 1975 MLB Batting Title. He spent two and a half seasons with the San Francisco Giants before a mid-season trade in 1979 sent him to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The trade proved to be a critical one as Madlock batted .328 during the rest of the season and helped the Pirates win the World Series. During his seven seasons in Pittsburgh, Madlock won two more NL Batting Titles and played in two more MLB All-Star Games. He was traded to the LA Dodgers during the 1985 season and finished career between the Dodgers and Tigers.
