Suspended New Orleans Saints players win appeal. Coaches still required to serve suspensions.

An appeals panel have overturned the suspensions of Jonathan Vilma, Will Smith, Anthony Hargrove and Scott Fujita. All four players are eligible to play immediately however, only Will Smith appears likely to play Week 1. Vilma has been battling hamstring issues and could miss the majority of the season, Hargrove is currently a free agent and Fujita has yet to practice with his new team, the Cleveland Browns. Smith hasn't been able to practice with Saints, but he is healthy enough to go.

The ruling only affects the players. Head coach Sean Payton, defensive coordinator Greg Williams, general manager Mickey Loomis and assistant head coach Joe Vitt must still serve their suspensions.
