That's right folks, the most famous Babe Ruth hat in history is up for sale. The auction is being held through SCP Auctions and has an estimated value of $400,000.00. The auction started on April 30th and ends on May 19th. This is the same hat made headlines when former New York Yankees pitcher, David Wells wore it during a game on June 28,1997. Manager, Joe Torre made him take the hat off after the 1st inning since it did not meet team uniform requirements. Less than a year later, David Wells made more headlines when he threw the 15th perfect game in major league history on May 17, 1998.
At the time of this post, the bid was at $189,880.00. Watch the auction here.
