High School Pitcher Pulled From Game One Strikeout Away From All-Strikeout Perfect Game

Have you heard this story out of California? The LA Times was the first to report that Ryan Olson of Western Christian School struck out the first 20 batters he faced, but with just one away from an all-strikeout perfect game, (HS games are only 7 innings) he was pulled from the game so that another player pitch. Reason why... it was Senior Day. Yes, you read that correctly... Senior Day.

Don't get me wrong, Senior Day is suppose give respect to the HS Seniors as they set off to new ventures, but come on, this is a bit ridiculous. Last time I checked, there are eight other positions on a baseball field that he could have played? Besides that, since Olson struck out every single batter he faced, no one else from his team played either.

Ironicly, the amount of publicity this story has brought probably helps Ryan more than if he HAD thrown the perfect game. LA Dodgers ace, Clayton Kershaw reportedly threw an all-strikeout perfect game in high school, but did it make the main stream …

Chicago Sun-Times Sports Collectibles Convention Autograph Signings June/ July 2012

At the end of June 2012, autograph and sports memorabilia collectors will once again turn their eyes towards Rosemont, Illinois as Mounted Memories will host the Chicago-Sun Times Sports Collectibles Convention. As usual, the show will feature dozens of current players, Hall of Famers, All-Stars, and legendary players from baseball, football, basketball and hockey. The show is so big, even "The Fonz" is scheduled to make an appearance.

The show is scheduled to run from Friday, June 29th through Sunday, July 1, 2012 and will be held at the Donald E. Stephenson Convention Center.

Dwight "Doc" Gooden Autograph Signing July 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend

Over the 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame weekend, MAB Celebrity Services will host a public autograph signing for New York Mets/ New York Yankees 4x MLB All-Star pitcher, Dwight Gooden. The signing is part of the Annual MAB Hall of Fame Spectacular which will be held inside the Tunnicliff Inn in Cooperstown, New York.

The New York Mets used the fifth pick of the 1982 Amateur Baseball Draft to select Dwight Gooden out of Hillsborough High School (Tampa, Florida) when he was just 17 years old. Gooden blew right through the minor leagues and was the 1984 NL Rookie of the Year. In 1985, Gooden had one of the most dominating seasons in baseball history. Gooden led the majors with 24 wins, a 1.53 ERA and 268 strikeouts on his way to winning the 1985 Cy Young Award. His 1.53 ERA is the lowest sinlge-season ERA of the Live-Ball Era (1920-2014). Reggie Jackson Autograph Signing July 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend

On Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26, 2014, MAB Celebrity Services will host a public autograph signing for Oakland A's/ NY Yankees Class of 1993 Baseball Hall of Fame outfielder Reggie Jackson. The signing is part of the Annual MAB Hall of Fame Spectacular which will be held inside the Tunnicliff Inn in Cooperstown, New York.

Reggie Jackson played 21 MLB seasons with the Kansas City/ Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees and California Angels. He played on 14 MLB All-Star teams, hit 563 homeruns and was the 1973 American League MVP. Nicknamed "Mr. October," Reggie won two World Series Titles with the Oakland As('73 and '74) and two more with the NY Yankees('77 and '78). He was named World Series MVP in 1973 and 1977, joining Sandy Koufax and Bob Gibson as the only players to win two WS MVP Awards.

Red Schoendienst Autograph Signing July 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend

On Friday, July 25th and Saturday July 26, 2014, MAB Celebrity Services will host a public autograph signing for St. Louis Cardinals/ Milwaukee Braves/ New York Giants Class of 1989 Baseball Hall of Fame second baseman, Red Schoendienst. The signing is part of the Annual MAB Hall of Fame Spectacular which will be held inside the Tunnicliff Inn in Cooperstown, New York.

Red Schoendienst was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals way back in 1942. He made his MLB debut in 1945 and played 11 and a half seasons with the Cardinals before he was traded to the New York Giants in 1956. During his first stint with the Cardinals, Red played in nine MLB All-Star Games and was a member of the 1946 World Series Championship team. In 1957, Red was traded to the Milwaukee Braves, led the majors with 200 hits and won his second World Series Championship. Red returned to St. Louis in 1961, retired as a player in 1963 and joined the Cardinals coaching staff in 1964. He became the team manager in 1965 and l…

Whitey Herzog Autograph Signings St. Louis Cardinals

Despite his famous quote, "Baseball has been good to me since I quit trying to play it," Whitey Herzog was a solid MLB player whose carer lasted eight seasons from 1956 - 1963. Herzog was hired as the Texas Rangers team manager in 1973, but was dismissed after just one season. He joined the California Angels managerial staff for the 1974 MLB season before taking of the Kansas City Royals in 1975. During his five years in Kansas City, Herzog led the Royals to five consecutive winning seasons and three AL West Division Titles. In 1980, Herzog was hired by the St. Louis Cardinals and continued to build his Hall of Fame resume. In 11 seasons as the Cardinals skipper, Herzog led them to three Division Titles, three National League Pennants and one World Series Championship (1982). He is still one of the most beloved Cardinals managers in team history.

Bob Gibson Autograph Signing July 2014 St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend

On Monday July 28, 2014, MAB Celebrity Services will host a public autograph signing for St. Louis Cardinals Class of 1981 Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher, Bob Gibson. The signing is part of the Annual MAB Hall of Fame Spectacular which will be held inside the Tunnicliff Inn in Cooperstown, New York.

Bob Gibson is the best pitcher in St. Louis Cardinals history. He played 17 MLB seasons with the Cardinals and guided the team to three World Series appearances. The Cardinals won the 1964 and 1967 World Series behind Bob Gibson's MVP performances in each series. In 1968, he threw 13 complete game shut-outs and set a new MLB record with a microscopic 1.12 ERA on his way to winning the 1968 NL Cy Young and MVP Awards. He captured his second Cy Young Award in 1970 when he led the NL with 23 wins. Bob Gibson played in nine MLB All-Star Games and won nine Gold Glove awards. His 251 career wins and 3,117 strikeouts are the most in team history
