After three years of college football with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Rocky Bleier during the 16th round of the 1968 NFL Draft. Bleier managed just 107 yards from scrimmage during his rookie year and was drafted by the United States Army in 1968. Rocky was wounded during his service in Vietnam and was given the Purple Heart. He rejoined the Steelers in 1971, but did not see much playing time until the 1974 season. Bleier became a good luck charm for the Steeler as they won 24 of the 27 games Rocky scored a TD in. In 1976, Bleier and Franco Harris became the second pair of teammates to rush for 1,000 yards in the same season. He one four Super Bowls with the Steelers and is still one Pittsburgh's most respected athletes.
