Rollie Fingers was the most dominant closer of the 1970's and early 1980's. During his nine seasons with the Oakland A's, he won three consecutive World Series Championships ('72-'74) and was named Most Valuable Player of the 1974 World Series. He played four seasons with the San Diego Padres and four more with the Milwaukee Brewers. Rollie was a 7x MLB All-Star, 3x Rolaids Relief Man of the Year, 2x NL Saves Leader and 1x Al Saves Leader. In 1981, he became the first relief pitcher to win the AL Cy Young and MVP awards. At the time of his retirement, his 341 career saves were the most in MLB history.
