Check out this 200lb nurse shark I caught right from the beach!

Want to see the 200lbs nurse shark I caught off of Clearwater Beach? you'll have to "Like" us on Facebook. We had four lines in all. We got there just after sunset and our strategy was to kayak the bait just over the sandbar and drop it off. Guess what? It worked! Right as I ended my second run (it was pitch black at this point) I got back in and one of the lines started spinning like a top. I grabbed it, fought for about 15-20 minutes before I was able to finally get him in. It was so dark out, the only light we had was from one flashlight. This was the first time I ever went shark fishing. Once I got him close to shore, I was just praying he wasn't a stingray!

Nurse sharks are pretty docile, but like every other living creature, they get real mad when they get a large hook in the mouth. They also don't like being pulled back into the water either when you're trying to release them. And YES, they do have teeth!

Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2011

On August 6, 2011, some of the NFL's all time greats will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The seven inductees are Marshal Faulk, Richard Dent, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter, Ed Sabol, Deion Sanders, and Shannon Sharpe.

Marshall Faulk - RB St. Louis Rams, Indianapolis Colts

2nd overall pick of the 1994 NFL Draft, Faulk played 12 seasons, rushed for 12,279 yards and 100 touchdowns. He also caught 767 passes, for another 6,875 yards and 36 receiving touchdowns. He is one of only three players with 12,000 rushing and 5,000 receiving yards. His ability to run the ball and catch it out of the backfield made him one of the most explosive players in the history of the NFL.

Richard Dent  - DE Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles

202 other players were picked before the Chicago Bears selected Dent in the 1983 NFL Draft. By the 1984 NFL season, he was one of the best defensive players in the league, and led the NFC with 17.5 sacks. The 19…

Fantasy Baseball Sleepers and Hidden Gems - Mid Season

So you read all the posts and articles at the beginning of this 2011 MLB season, but no matter what place you are in, you always need to contiguously look for diamonds in the rough. Everyone knows that your superstars will virtually always show up. It's usually the sleepers, or the guys who come out of know where are have great years that end up winning their league (See Jose Bautista, 2010) There are always good players available in just about every Fantasy Baseball League, you just need to know who's available. I'm in a Yahoo league and in no particular order, these are players that I like that are available in most leagues, as of this post.

Infielders:

Jason Bartlett - SS - He's hitting only .249, which is well below his career average of .277 and he career best of .320, but he does steal some bases (15) and his strikeout/ AB ratio is 1:6. This tells me that he's putting the ball in play, if he starts putting the ball into the gaps, he could finish up with over 1…

Man Cave Sports Memorabilia, Collectibles, and Souvenirs

By definition, the man cave is place of male sanctuary. It's a place where men can put all their crap in, watch a baseball, football, basketball or hockey game and drink beer. To be completely honest though, it really doesn't matter what kind of game or beer it is, as long as it's on TV and the beer is cold. It is the coolest thing ever in invented by... WOMEN! That's right, women. They've decided to take a stand against us guys. Instead of having a whole house full of our stuff, we are aloud only one room to fill to the brim of all all stuff. If any of it even touches the door, it's most likely thrown out.

Highland Mint Baseball Hall of Fame Coin Collection

The Highland Mint is regarded as one of the leaders in producing high quality sports memorabilia and once again, they have produced another masterpiece with The Baseball Hall of Fame Coin Card Collection.

The front of each card features a photo of a baseball Hall of Fame member, while the back of the card features the players bust that is located at the National Baseball Hall of Fame Museum in Cooperstown, NY. What really makes these Hall of Fame collectibles really unique is the commemorative solid bronze coin that is embedded into the card. The front of the coin features the player's photo, while the back of the coin features the National Baseball Hall of Fame Museum logo. The entire piece is encased in a protective 4x6 acrylic case.

Each coin card is a Limited Edition and the number of coins minted was determined by the player's HOF induction year. For instance, NY Yankees legendary catcher, Yogi Berra, was elected to the HOF in 1972, therefore Yogi's coin cards are lim…

Pittsburgh Pirates Winning Record? Is 2011 the year the curse is broken?

Could this be the year? After 69 games, the Pittsburgh Pirates have a won - loss record of 35-34. The last time the Pirates finished the season with a winning record was 19 years ago, way back in 1992. Guys like Neil Walker and Andrew McCutchen have really stepped up their game and newly acquired Kevin Correia has added some veteran leadership to the Pirates starting rotation, but probably the biggest surprise has got to be Charlie Morton.

During Morton's first three years in the majors, he amassed a record of 11-29 and an ERA around 6.00. Last year alone, he was 2-12 with an ERA of 7.57 and gave up 15 home runs in only 79.2 innings pitched. Opponents had a .332 batting average against him. What a difference a year can makes!

This year, he's off to a 7-3 start, has an ERA of 3.21, has given up only 2 home runs in 84 innings pitched and opponents are hitting almost 50 points less than last year. He's got to be the most improved player in MLB this year and if he keeps this …
