Carl Yastrzemski Autograph Signings Boston Red Sox

Carl Yastrzemski was a star football, basketball and baseball player at Bridgehampton High School (Bridgehampton, New York). He was a freshman at the University of Notre Dame on a full baseball and basketball when the Boston Red Sox signed him in 1958. Yaz made his MLB Debut in 1961 and became the love of Bean Town. Over the next 22 seasons, Yaz was selected to 18 MLB All-Star Games, won seven Gold Glove awards and three American League Batting Titles. In 1967, Yaz led the AL with 44 homeruns, 121 RBI and posted a .326 batting average, becoming the 16th player in MLB history to win the Triple Crown. He won the 1967 American League MVP and led the Red Sox all the way to the 1967 World Series. Yastrzemski's 23 MLB seasons with the Red Sox is tied with Brooks Robinson (Orioles) for the most MLB seasons with one team.
